Year 6 Enterprise
What a great success!!!
The Year Enterprise Day was a fantastic event with lots of people and children from school and the local community coming to support the event. The children's stalls attracted lots of buyers and each group made massive profits and were able to pay back their original loans easily!
The children made a combined profit of £639.89 (after all loans were paid back). This is a fantastic acheivement and reflects the hard work and comitment that each child showed to the project. We are very proud of their acheivements!
Please read a copy of a letter sent to the children from one of the 'Dragons'.
Dear Businesses of Saint Anne's, Year 6
Thank you for inviting me to your enterprise day that was held yesterday. I visited and I am writing to say how highly delighted I was at the sights that greeted me in your playground.
The school yard was full of smiling, happy children all milling around the various stalls and games; all of which were very professionally set up and efficiently staffed by you.
The varieties of goods on sale, together with the fairground fun stalls were well set out and appealed to all ages, offering good value for money. The fairground fun aaded the 'fun' factor to the afternoon, providing that little extra enjoyment away from the 'shops'.
I congratulate all the children in Year 6 at Saint Anne's on such a successful business venture, I am sure hat all of your businesses will have made a healthy profit. I know that this experience will help you all in the years to come. Seeing all your ideas come to fruition was very pleasing and a worthwhile investment.
All of your team skills were displayed, especially during the impromptu cabaret. It appeared to me that enjoyment was had by all, customers plus entrepreneurs.
Altogether a very successful venture and I wish you all success for the future.
Yours sincerely
Mr Barry Mitchell
We would like to thank all the 'dragons', paremnts and customers for their great support.
Welcome to our enterprise page.
In Year 6 we have been given the challenge of forming small businesses to design, produce, and market goods to sell to the public. Our businesses are:
- Finishing Touch - who are going to sell gifts such as candles, photo frames, key rings and other exciting products.
- Fairground Fun - who will organise and run fairground stalls with exciting prizes.
- Green Fingers - who are going to be making and selling hanging baskets and potted plants.
- Premier Stationery - who will be selling stationery products.
- S.A.C.s - who will be selling bags made out of recycable material.
On the 17th June we invited 7 business men and women into school so that we could ask them to finance our products (we thought it was like Dragon's Den). We presented our products to them and told them exactly what money we needed, what we would spend the money on and what profit we expected to make. After lots of questions and negotiations these dragon's gave us all the money we needed and said that they were impressed with our presentations and ideas.
We now have to buy the materials we need and produce the goods we need to sell. The Enterprise Day will be held in the KS1 playground on Wednesday 8th July. We would be delighted to see any of you there and you can expected to be warmly greeted and have a fun time and hopefully pick up some quality goods at good prices.
Keep looking at our page for further details. We hope to see you on the 8th July - Year 6.
