In art club we have been looking at illuminated lettering from the past. We decided to have a go at illuminating our own initials.
What we did.
First we looked on the internet for examples of illuminated letters.
We found this on Britannica's website. It's from the Lindisfarne Gospels.
Then we had to practise forming letters:
Then we tried more compicated letters.
Next we had to practise using coloured inks.
And finally we made the finished letter.
