Headteacher's Letter

Welcome to Burley and Woodhead Church of England Primary School.  We are very proud of our school, in particular the strong partnerships that we have in place, between pupils, teachers, parents, governors and our local communty of Burley in Wharfedale.  Our website is designed to make communication with everyone as easy as possible.  You will be able to find recent letters to parents and general information about the running of the school.
More importantly, you can find out about the many exciting learning opportunities that the children experience throughout the school.  This is a chance to celebrate all that happens at Burley and Woodhead because we believe that our children should enjoy their education and develop lively, enquiring minds.  All year groups take part in out of school visits as well as having lessons in our pleasant school grounds.  Many children represent the school in sporting activities.  All take part in musical and dramatic performances each year for parents and friends.
This enrichment of their learning leads to excellent language development.  Our children speak and write very well.  They also care for each other, a quality we greatly prize in our church school.  We would agree with Ofsted's opinion that the ethos of our school is excellent.  Please use our website to discover more about us.
